Human Shape of Light
Human shape of light,
Being of purity and golden sunshine.
I want to be taken.
By you, By your hand.
Led away to paradise for a short while,
In silence, And in faith.
In the vortex of our bodies,
On the sheets, between blankets,
Allow the forbidden.
Let us disappear from this world,
and pretend that we are fireflies caught inside a berry-bush;
A fleeting moment of safety and intimacy,
No escape in disguise,
Just a simple step aside.
To this reality of mine.
~
As I awaken from slumber,
Warmth surrounds me,
My eyes won’t open but I can smell you,
I can sense you, sense your body across the bed,
Sense your arm next to mine, and your hand not so far.
I do not grab it, for fear that you or I may awaken,
Just in case it is not real,
I can smell your warmth, I can smell your skin from here,
I wish to fly over it, lick it like a sun-kissed sunflower,
And it seems I cannot hold still.
I hover over you,
Like a kid riding on your back,
I dig my face in your hair and take a deep breath.
Real pollen of shooting stars,
A scent of tenderness and lavender,
Malevolent bee skipping around,
Fruitful nectar of a fallen comet,
Transform superfly.
Piercing lance,
Translucent beam,
Burst of aura,
Oblivion and,
Meditation.
I still have not opened my eyes.
And I am now lying on top of you,
My head in the curve of your neck,
Your hair over mine,
Synchronized breathing in the shared moment.
~
I open my eyes, time for yours to close,
Herbal incandescence,
Lifted spirits high to detachment,
You turn on your back,
Arms grabbing pillows and planets,
And my hands run.
For as long as Time is,
And Time will,
- Forget oneself in the desert,
- Rub the sand and taste the dunes,
- Bring my saliva to the most arid of planes,
I linger.
For as long as Time is left,
And Time has,
- I am inside and within,
- Pinching the flesh,
- While a seed grows.
